Mary + Bobby = Wedding {Nacogdoches Wedding Photography}

**Be sure to read to the end** People tell stories about Mary and Bobby…stories about how they made a difference in their life. There’s just something about Mary. People are drawn to Mary because of her selflessness…her desire to thoughtfully and sacrificially serve others. She just makes people feel special…as though they are more important than her. Perhaps that’s what drew Bobby to call her “A Woman of Intrigue” and eventually win her heart. For me, I saw her big heart over ten years ago when she, as a high school student, came and helped me scrape paint in the kitchen. But there’s also something about Bobby. People are drawn to him because of his sense of humor. Rumor has it that he is one of the funniest guys around. Hang around him long enough and you might discover a funny guy who has a deep passion for helping others get to know Jesus. People might be drawn to Bobby because of his humor, but they stick around because of his integrity. Theirs is a story of patience and faith. Their paths crossed many times over the years at Baylor, Pine Cove and Target. Ironically it was Mary’s selfless act of trying to set up her best friend with Bobby that made her realize that she might really want him. And ironically it was Bobby’s integrity that made him patiently wait on God’s timing to bring Mary into his life and “man up” when it was time. Of course, it’s not really ironic. There truly is something about Mary and Bobby, and His name is Jesus. Their love for the Lord and delight in each other was an honor to see on their wedding day. As she got ready to see Bobby for the First Look before the wedding, Mary’s words were, “Oh Happy.” It was all she could do to not run down that aisle. When she said his name, he turned and his face was full of wonder…there she was, his Mary. Mary & Bobby’s wedding day began alone together as they huddled in the chilly breeze to talk and pray. Their day was full of laughter, friends, and those oh-so-carefully-planned details that were Mary’s delight. A ceremony set before an incredible sunset warmed the hearts of the guests on a chilly December evening. And then a party in a red barn trimmed with twinkle lights set the stage for a perfect finale to a fabulous day. They drove away in the back of her dad’s old red 1951 Chevy truck, excited about what their married life would bring. Unbeknownst to many – and true to Bobby’s integrity – he asked his new father-in-law to pray with them before they left for their honeymoon. Prayer bookended this wedding day…and it was so perfect. Mary and Bobby, thank you for allowing me to capture your wedding day. I am SO happy for you! It was a pleasure to see such love and delight on your faces. And it is a privilege to tell your story. Enjoy the rest of the story…there is a surprise at the end. Surprise…a little video of the day! “oh happy.”

Can I book a wedding in about 15 or so years? I know you’ll be booked way in advance, so I want to reserve my spot for our girls. There is NO ONE else I’d ever want to capture their weddings than Aunt Heather (just what you want…taking pictures at your niece’s wedding). You continue to amaze me with the incredible talent God has given you…don’t you know it brings Him glory to see you capturing His creation and sharing it with the world! One thing, though…what was the sissy preacher doing in a coat? Tell him to man up and deal with the Texas “cold”!

Heather – I’ve joyfully looked at the pictures and the video three times now and find something new and different in each picture each time I see them. You did a remarkably stunning job of showing the “art of relationship” in the love between Mary and Bobby and also managed to capture the feeling of the love they have for our Lord. (my favorites were the “first glance” shots … including their prayer together … and the sunset shots … gorgeous!!).

Heather…you are truly one of the most gifted photographers I have ever seen! I love your photo-journalism style. Have you thought about submiting the pictures to the magazine “The Knot?” I have had two friends whose weddings have been written up in the Texas version of the knot and this wedding-and the pictures-are even more awesome than my friends’ weddings. Think about it!!! And Mary…you are one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen! I cried when I saw the picture of Dr. Hurst when he saw you for the first time…love it. Congrats!

Heather, I feel like I was there! You captured great facial expressions…love the photo of her mom & dad watching the first dance. You have a great eye for taking unique photos of others.
